Social Entrepreneurship Track Captain / Advisory Board
Marcus Harris is a Portfolio Manager in the SWOT City business support program for brick-and-mortar enterprises in Detroit neighborhoods at nonprofit business accelerator TechTown Detroit. He also serves as an adjunct faculty in the Entrepreneurial Studies department at Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD) in Detroit. He has also taught undergraduate entrepreneurship courses at Oakland University in Rochester, MI and Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, MI. Marcus is currently an entrepreneur trainer for ProsperUS Detroit, a neighborhood-based microenterprise development program. In addition to teaching entrepreneurship courses at WCCCD for the past nine years, he also serves as a facilitator for BUILD Social, an innovative training and development program for social entrepreneurs, which he co-founded and launched with Detroit nonprofit Build Institute in 2014. A life-long resident of Detroit, Marcus holds Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. Currently, he is conducting dissertation research in social entrepreneurship as a doctoral candidate in the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program at Lawrence Technological University.
