Dom Holmes is the Manager of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at Automation Alley, a nonprofit technology business association and business accelerator in Troy, Michigan. He manages programs and activities designed to provide information, education, and training to prospective and existing small business owners in Southeast Michigan. His primary responsibilities include management of Automation Alley 7Cs program, which provides resources and funding to advanced manufacturing startups in Southeast Michigan and management of Automation Alley’s technology investment fund which has provided over $9M in funding to Southeast Michigan companies.

Prior to joining Automation Alley, Holmes worked as the executive director for the Pay It Forward Initiative, a nonprofit workforce development organization, where he was responsible for managing operations, identifying business opportunities and developing strategic relationships. Previously, Holmes served as assistant to the commercialization principal at Wayne State University. His responsibilities in that role included collaborating with WSU researchers to promote the commercialization of university technologies as well as researching and evaluating various university technologies (including SBIR/STTR granted projects) and prospective licensees.

Holmes received his bachelor’s degree in public affairs with a specialization in government from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.
