Judy Brunson

Ms. E Judy Brunson is an industry professional with 20 years of experience devoted to the Research, Design, Development and Release of both Conventional Automotive Systems and Alternative Automotive Propulsion Systems.

As the Head of eMobility, High Voltage Systems, & Quality for the Powertrain & eDrive Division of Mercedes Benz R&D North America, Ms Brunson led the team responsible for designing, developing, and commissioning the first Daimler HV Battery Lab in North America. The lab is capable of the Tear Down, Analysis, Resolution & Reporting of HV Battery issues, in addition to the research of new HV Battery Technologies. The lab is located in the heart of Silicon Valley in Sunny Vale, California. She has also directed the creation and implementation of the MBRDNA Automotive High Voltage Safety Organization for Mercedes Benz Research & Development, NA.

Ms Brunson has current research, design, development, and Release responsibilities for all eMobility, High Voltage (HV) Components, HV Systems, Safety Systems & Quality for MBRDNA. Her team demonstrates and deploys advanced and near term eVehicle technologies in the US market, including Inductive & DC Fast Charge technologies, and the ISO/IEC 15118 based Smart Charge Communications (SCC) User Interface protocol with a focus on the alignment of the ISO/IEC15118 & SEP2.0 communications standards. She is responsible for designing & demonstrating V2G, V2V, and V2H Proof of Concept eV technologies in the US and ensuring eV infrastructure interoperability in the US.
